 family run - atmosphere to match  limited car parking good location, friendly staff, generally nice and quiet. the ensuite in the room we stayed needs a bit of a refurbishment, but still not bad  friendly place, friendly staff. the breakfast was good, and although we didn't eat any other meals there, the menu looked good. easy access to new forest, cycle rental and the train station. in all a very relaxing stay with no hassles. very friendly staff and good location hotel very dated, in desperate need of a refurb very friendly atmosphere in the hotel, staff are very willing to help.good location, everything i needed within walking distance.however hotel looking very tired, decor in room was in desperate need of an update along with the furniture.unfortunately no internet access clean, functional and comfortable, friendly staff good value for money slightly outdated decor we were here for a wedding at another hotel, the room was large and clean, and functional. we weren't in the hotel much but the staff were very accommodating to our very late arrival. friendly comfortable hotel within nice surroundings, easy to walk into the town the hotel was warm and clean and in a nice location. considering we booked a superior room we were disappointed. the bathroom was old and tired with black grouting round the bath, we had no toilet roll and towels were not changed at all during our stay. the room was badly in need of updating as was the bedding and curtains. although we had the same table during breakfast and for any meals we witnessed the serviettes being refolded from the night meal and used again for the next morning, i had mine for two days in a row although dirty. little things like tatty menus and mucky sauce bottles were a bit of a put off. we had one meal in the hotel which was nice but very simple and was £22.00 per head. we had a nice stay and are regular to the area but would not pay so much to stay in such a hotel. so many small things could be bettered and it would make such a difference to the appearance of things. the staff were welcoming and friendly and this is not a reflection on them. just feel that if a little thought and a bit of reinvestment in the small things would put this hotel back on top.
