perfect hotel for families with children (and perfect hotel too, if you travel without children). there was plenty of activities for children entertainment. even so, it was quiet enough at any time. the city (santa eulalia) is nice, with lots of high quality restaurants, and a lovely harbour, making it highly recommendable for family holidays.the staff at the hotel reception desk was very kind, with our special thanks and gratitude to susana.the only negative comment has to do with the cleaning service of the rooms. rooms are very clean, that'.s not the problem. the matter is that the hotel has a special service to set the cleaning hours for your room, very useful when travelling with babies (my case), but it didn'.t work so well, and i hadn'.t my room cleaned two different days, to avoid interrupting my baby'.s sleep.my overall rating is very good, let'.s say 9 out of 10, and i definitely would recommend this hotel for a pleasant holidays in a lovely island.best regards from spain.j.ignacio aguila.

the hotel is very much set up for germans and also those who take up the all-inclusive option and as we were neither of those the experience was slightly less than satisfying. after we had been at the hotel for a couple of days both my wife and 12 year old son came to the same conclusion that it just wasn'.t very friendly! there was also a distinct lack of supervision around the pool area and security in general which meant that some children were left to their own devices with inevitable consequences. the hotel itself is very good with spacious modern rooms with excellent air-con in a good location (10 minutes walk into santa eulalia or less than 10 minutes on an excellent bus service to es cana) and if you were looking for a quiet base to explore the north of the island you could do far worse. however if you are english you will find that the level of service you receive will fall short of expectations. a good example of this was the fact that we had to wait 2 and 1/2 hours for our room to be ready on the day of arrival (we arrived about noon) and there didn'.t seem to be any urgency whatsoever to speed this up. during this time there seemed to be a steady stream of mainly english speaking guests complaining about a variety of housekeeping issues which probably told us much about the situation. we only paid £500 for a 1-bed apartment for a week in late july (school hols) which represented excellent value for money but we came away with a very mixed impression of tropic garden and would not be looking to return in future.

we have now stayed at the tropic gardens 3 times, and expect to go again in september. we've not found any other comparable aparthotel accommodation of this standard anywhere on the island. it's conveniently located, and a very high standard of service is provided by all members of staff, who are polite and efficient at all times.the only thing that lets it down is the fact that its all-inclusive status (of some guests) seems to be reflected in the quality of the drinks on offer at the bar - we would like to see more branded spirits/ liquours etc. on offer.

the accommodation was really nice and the pool area was kept clean and well maintained. the staff were helpful and seemed happy in their work. it would have been helpful when booking the holiday for a street map of the location to be provided so we could see exactly how far it is from the main town and how to get to it (we hired a car and drove from the airport), however it was not difficult to find and close to local amenities.
