the location of the b&.b is excellent. 5 min walking distance from st. mark place and canal grande. the standard double room that we had for the first night (as booked)was a bit noisy because of a water-heater or something like this, was built into the closet of our room. but next night we could move to the very nice double room with wooden bed and antique furniture, that is shown on venere'.s web-page. the sharing of bathrooms (which were very spacious, clean and new) caused some ".rush hours". in the morning. but not that bad. nice beakfeast with espresso, bakerolls, salami, ham etc. - much better than it can be expected in italy.

what a great place to stay. we were early and just wanted to drop off the bags, but greselda welcommed us and gace us a cup of coffee and sat us down for a chat.room is great on the canal and the music and '.venice'.sounds oozed into room.great location to all main areas, but does need a bigger sign near the door as locating using another hotel location to find is not good.highly recommended and the best on our month trip.

the staff here was very friendly and helpful and did allow use of the internet and kitchen at all times. however, the pictures are misleading in that the one double room has two single beds not the double pictured, the canal shot was off the balcony of one of the rooms, the other does not have this view, the terrace was not as picturesque as there was laundry hanging and the work station was in clear view. the canal is busy in the early am with deliveries as early as 6am, if you are a light sleeper this will be a problem. by the same token, the seranading gondoliers at night is quite charming. the location was in the busiest section of venice, san marco, a plus for many, but if you want to be away from the maddening crowd, do not stay here. the breakfast was pastry purchased from the local supermarket, not homemade, typical for european b&.b'.s but not for american standards. this detracts from the value as we had to go out for breakfast daily to get fresh pastry and coffee. we were unaware that we shared the bathroom with all other guests which on one night was 6 other people. if you are comfortable with this, i would definitely stay here but for request the double with the balcony and view for the best experience.
